What drives the cost
Five variables move the price within the AED 1,500 to 2,400 per square metre band:
Texture depth. A shallow textured wall (15–30mm relief) sits at the base rate. Deep three-dimensional rockwork with overhangs, recessed pockets, and dramatic shadows requires more mortar volume and more carving hours, pushing the rate up.
Indoor versus outdoor. Outdoor installations require an additional UV-stable mineral seal rated for Dubai's 50°C heat and salt air. The seal adds material cost and a curing day to the schedule.
Surface preparation. A clean, plastered wall is ready immediately. Existing tile, paint, or wallpaper must be removed first — either by your contractor or quoted as a separate line item.
Access and location. Standard access on a single ground floor in Dubai carries no surcharge. High-rise apartments above floor 30, villas with restricted scaffolding access, or projects outside Dubai add a logistics line.
Custom design depth. Two design revisions are included. Bespoke moodboards, designer-led references from Pinterest or photographs, or matching to a specific natural rock formation may require additional consultation hours.

There is no strict minimum, but projects below 5 square metres carry a one-off mobilisation fee to cover skilled labour and material setup. For walls under 5 sqm, the most cost-effective option is a small-format feature panel framed within a larger interior.
Are there hidden costs?
No. The quoted rate per square metre includes the steel armature, fibreglass mesh, two coats of mortar, mineral pigment, hand-carving, and finishing. The only line items quoted separately are out-of-Dubai travel and scaffolding for ceilings above 4 metres.
How does this compare to imported stone wall panels?
Imported natural stone or GRC cladding panels typically cost AED 600 to 1,200 per sqm for material alone, plus AED 400 to 800 per sqm for fixing labour — around AED 1,000 to 2,000 per sqm installed. Will the price change if I want changes mid-build?
Two design revisions are included before carving begins. After carving has started, changes that require re-shaping a finished surface are quoted as variation orders before any work proceeds.
